Meet Our Team

Ryan Casey has over 15 years of IT experience that spans software development, architecture, project management and running an IT consultancy. He has successfully led software development projects across industries by focusing on the critical features and structuring the project so that those features are delivered on time. Ryan is a proficient developer who is able to quickly learn new technologies.

Ryan is able to leverage his experience and education to add value by working with a client to understand their goals and develop solutions to meet those goals. He has the ability to translate non-technical requirements into technical tasks to fulfill the client’s vision.

Prior to founding Skapa, Ryan was the CEO of Growing Technologies, a small IT consultancy in Charlottesville, Virginia.  Before that, Ryan worked at MusicToday as a Developer and the Center for Responsive Politics (opensecrets.org) in Washington, D.C. where he was the Webmaster and network administrator.  OpenSecrets twice won the prestigious Webby Award while he was Webmaster.

Ryan holds an M.S. from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce and a B.A. from Earlham College.

Carlos Espinoza brings over 20 years of experience leading teams in the development of technology products across multiple industries such as the financial, publishing, education and healthcare industries. He has been successful at bringing innovative products to market by working collaboratively across business units including engineering, finance and marketing. Carlos is results-oriented and can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development at agile speeds.

He started his corporate career at AT&T Microelectronics in Reading, PA, where he developed Client/Server solutions for the marketing department. After that he worked at JP Morgan and Credit Suisse First Boston, both in New York City.  At Credit Suisse, Carlos worked as a Vice President of Information Technology, supporting the Investment Banking group.

More recently, Carlos founded E Systems Corporation and Incas Corporation. E Systems Corporation provides technology solutions for clients across the U.S.  Incas Corporation develops products and concepts in the food service industry. Carlos is active in the community, and before moving to Charlottesville he served as the President of the Hampton Roads Hispanic Chamber of Commerce from 2009 to 2012.

Carlos holds a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Darden School of Business.

Huda Bazyan is a highly motivated IT professional, with years of experience in project management and software development.

In Huda’s previous job at the Curry School of Education, she served as the IT Project Manager for PALS, a literacy screening tool for young kids. Huda has a record of ensuring projects are delivered at the highest quality and within budget, by effectively organizing, managing and utilizing all resources. With her strong interpersonal and analytical skills, Huda proved to be a successful team leader and liaison between teams and clients.

Prior to graduate school, Huda worked on the development of nationally recognized products during her time at University of Virginia and University of Iowa. She has significant experience working on web and product development, analytics, IT hiring, software testing, and documentation.

Huda holds a B.Sc. in Computer Information Systems (CIS) from Jordan University of Science and Technology and an M.S. from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce.
